I am delighted to report to you following the success of the dinner we held in Yerushalayim during Chol Ha'Moed Sukkot. Nearly two hundred guests were in attendance as we celebrated the onset of Nahal Haredi's second decade of service in the IDF and paid tribute to one of our own - distinguished soldier Sergeant Daniel Meltsev - and of course our special guest of honor, Rabbi Hershel Billet.

IDF Unleashes a New Infantry Fighting Brigade

At a ceremony held on October 19,2006 the IDF officially opened the new 900th Brigade named "Kfir" (young lion).

More of a reorganization effort than something totally new, the IDF has structured a brigade that contains special anti-terror infantry combat battalions. Very revealing and important for the Nahal Haredi, the Netzah Yehuda Battalion now takes its place shoulder to shoulder with the other five veteran infantry battalions (Nachshon, Shimshon, Duchifat, Lavi and Haruv).
