3/8/2007 Ceremonial Hair Cutting Held in the Nahal Haredi Base
"An entire battalion was "mobilized" for a momentous and unusual mission as all hands pitched in to prepare for a "hair cutting ceremony" (Opsherin) at the Jordan Valley base of Nahal Haredi.
The guest list included the battalion's soldiers, commanders, chaplain, Rabbis and dignitaries affiliated with the Netzach Yehuda organization as well as members of the Ando family.
Following the ceremony - an unusual event by any army standard- the battalion's soldiers and guests enjoyed a festive banquet. The idea for the ceremonial military "crew cut" was conceived by the boy's father when the child was an infant. Now, after three years, the father has, in his own words, "fulfilled his dream."
