IDF Unleashes a New Infantry Fighting Brigade
At a ceremony held on October 19,2006 the IDF officially opened the new 900th Brigade named "Kfir" (young lion).
More of a reorganization effort than something totally new, the IDF has structured a brigade that contains special anti-terror infantry combat battalions. Very revealing and important for the Nahal Haredi, the Netzah Yehuda Battalion now takes its place shoulder to shoulder with the other five veteran infantry battalions (Nachshon, Shimshon, Duchifat, Lavi and Haruv).
Speaking to a group of visitors, Brigade Commander Aluf Mishneh David Menachem said that the Nahal Haredi has proven itself time and time again to be an elite motivated anti-terror fighting force that he is proud to have under his command.
